Creating Connection

A national movement to change social norms so creative expression, arts, and culture are embraced as a recognized, valued, and expected part of everyday life.

About the movement

Creating Connection is a national social change movement focused on advancing the position of arts, culture, and creative expression in our nation. It builds on previous efforts to promote arts and culture, but is grounded in new research and a unique approach to building public will that creates change that stands the test of time.

We are now sharing what the initiative has learned with organizations and leaders across the country — offering presentations, in-depth training programs, workshops, and technical assistance that can help you understand and apply these new strategies, messages, and tactics to your work. Learn more about our events and offerings on the full Creating Connection website.

Partnerships and support

Creating Connection is led by Arts Midwest in collaboration with Metropolitan Group and a committed group of state and local arts agencies, arts and culture institutions, arts service organizations, working artists, arts educators, and others. Learn more about our project leaders and participants in Oregon; Massachusetts; San Jose, California; Minnesota; and Michigan, and the incredible funders who are making this work possible.
