Achieving Cultural Equity Survey | Fill it out
Small and mid-sized cultural organizations that are grounded in historically marginalized communities are encouraged to fill out this survey from the Creative Justice Initiative. Responses will be used to make the case more robust and sustainable funding for community-based cultural organizations. Completing this survey will enter you to a raffle for $1,000 for your organization.

Pandemic-Related Employment Survey for Creative Workers | Fill it out
Americans for the Arts has launched a new, 5-10 minute anonymous survey to assess the impact of the pandemic on the employment of artists and creative workers, to better understand the impact of COVID-19 and the ensuing economic crisis, and informing advocacy and policy.

NCAPER’s new Protecting Your Assets Toolkit offers guidance on making critical decisions about your arts or cultural organization’s structure and resilience. It is intended to support organizations as they navigate legal and structural choices, protect institutional knowledge, and manage and preserve their legacy.

 

Grants + Funding

Apply for American Rescue Plan Funds through Midwestern SAAs | Learn More
Learn more about the funds available to organizations in the Midwest through State Arts Agencies and nationally through the National Endowment for the Arts as part of the American Rescue Plan.

Midwestern states currently accepting applications for ARP funded grants:

  • Iowa: Grants of up to $10,000 for individuals, and up to $20,000 for organizations. Deadline: October 1, 2021.
  • South Dakota: Various levels of grants available. Deadline: October 8, 2021.
  • Wisconsin: Various levels of grants available. Deadline: October 14, 2021.
  • North Dakota: Grants of up to $8,000 for individuals, and up to $20,000 for organizations. Deadline: October 15, 2021.
  • Minnesota: Grants of $15,000 each to be awarded to 65 organizations. Deadline: October 29, 2021.

Arts Midwest GIG Fund Round 2 Applications Open | Apply now
Applications close October 5, 2021
Arts Midwest’s Grow, Invest, Gather (GIG) Fund provides financial support to arts organizations for rebuilding and re-imagining creative engagement in their communities amidst the challenging uncertainty affecting all corners of the creative sector.

Chicago Creative Worker Assistance Program | Learn more
Applications open in mid-October
Chicago has announced a new $2.3 million relief fund for artists and creative works who have suffered lost income during the COVID-19 pandemic. The grants will range from $2,000 to $5,000. Guidelines and application will open in mid-October.

October 13 – 15 | Free
The Indiana Arts Homecoming is an annual gathering of Indiana’s artists, arts providers, and creative communities who are doing work every day to create opportunities that are vibrant, engaging, and embedded in the lives of our citizens. This year’s virtual event is free and open to the public, and features programming on creative aging, building inclusive arts spaces, and more.
