World Fest Online Concludes with Hikaru

Since 2003, Arts Midwest World Fest has brought international musicians to communities throughout the Midwest. This year, when we can’t be with you in person, we’re still bringing music and culture from around the world to your screens as part of World Fest Online. Join us as we release videos featuring three incredible international music ensembles: Hadar Maoz (Israel), Paulo Padilha e Bando (Brazil), and Hikaru (Japan).

Explore Japanese Music and Culture with Hikaru

In the final set of videos released as part of World Fest Online, explore Japanese folk music with Hikaru. Travel with the band members across Tokyo to explore a festival, a dance studio and a barbershop. Tune into their workshop to hear instruments like the 3-string shamisen, the high-pitched shinobue flute, and the rumbling taiko drums as well as traditional singing and dance.

Don’t Miss Hikaru’s Concert Premiere!

Then, watch Hikaru performing a special concert, premiering Thursday, 11/19 at 7:30pm CT on Facebook and Youtube
