Arts Midwest is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2017 David J. Fraher Future Leaders’ Fund award! Congratulations to Michelle VanHuss from Dayton Contemporary Dance Company and Jessica Albright from The Cleveland Orchestra.

Now in its ninth year, the Fund has provided 16 scholarships to visionary individuals to attend the Arts Midwest Conference. These young leaders have shown great enthusiasm for our field, creating pathways for new ideas and entering important leadership roles at organizations such as the Children’s Theater Company in Minneapolis and Iowa Arts Council in Des Moines. Now working for Princeton University, the 2012 Future Leaders’ award recipient recently expressed her gratitude for this opportunity:

“Thank you to Arts Midwest for continuing to make the David J. Fraher Future Leaders’ Fund available for emerging leaders in our field. I am proud to have been a recipient in 2012. I continue to benefit professionally from the knowledge I gained and the colleagues I met with that year. I hope to see this program continue for many years.”
