Senators support stable funding for the arts and humanities

Arts Midwest would like to thank Senators Tammy Baldwin (WI), Al Franken (MN), Tim Johnson (SD), Carl Levin (MI), and Debbie Stabenow (MI), who recently co-signed a letter in support of a $154 million dollar funding level for the National Endowment for the Arts.

In addition to strengthening support for Arts Midwest’s member state arts agencies and our own core programs, the funding will allow the endowment to maintain its investment in cultural programs throughout the United States. We are especially proud that the Senators’ letter noted among the many successful NEA programs The Big Read and Shakespeare in American Communities, both managed by Arts Midwest in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.

You can read a signed copy of the Senators’ letter below.
