Ken manages the details of Arts Midwest World Fest, a program which brings performing ensembles from around the globe to small and mid-size communities in the nine state region Arts Midwest serves. Each ensemble tour includes week-long residencies which feature school and community workshops, a public concert, and other informal interactions all designed to give community members a thoughtful and fun experience with culture, music and people who don’t come through so often if at all.
Ken began work at Arts Midwest in 2000 and, though Arts Midwest World Fest is now his primary responsibility, he has worked on other initiatives and programs including Global Sounds, Heartland Beats, the Arts Midwest Conference, and Shakespeare in American Communities. Prior to joining Arts Midwest, Ken served as National Tour Coordinator at the Children’s Theater Company in Minneapolis from 1991-99 and as Tour Coordinator for Minneapolis-based Illusion Theater from 1982-90.
Ken has a degree in English from Gustavus Adolphus College.
