Ellen Mueller (she/her) lives and works in Minneapolis, Mni Sota Makoce (Minnesota), on Dakota and Anishinaabe land. Ellen has a 10+ year background in teaching in higher education, as well as program and department management. She also works as a freelance artist-career coach, with over 10 years of experience. As an artist, her creative work examines how capitalist systems affect everyday living, with particular focus on issues related to the environment, hyperactive news media, and corporate management systems. Media range from drawing, collage, and sculpture, to video, zines, and social practices. Ellen has published three books: Elements and Principles of 4D Art and Design (2016, Oxford University Press), Remixing and Drawing: Sources, Influences, Styles (2018, Routledge Focus), and Some Social Practice (2020, Creative Commons). Currently, she is under contract with SUNY Press for a forthcoming book, Walking as Artistic Practice (expected 2023).
