Billy Keefe is a strategic communications expert with two decades of experience working for nonprofits in the arts and education. Prior to joining Arts Midwest in May 2018, he was a digital media manager at BAM, Sesame Workshop, and NYU.

In his artistic life, Billy runs a small creative studio in Minneapolis, MN called Box Factory and serves as the co-director of LALA Festival. Billy created and hosted The Gone, a transgender sci-fi radio show on 89.1FM in NYC, launched the media lab at Urban Arts Partnership, and has programmed art technology showcases for the Brooklyn Experimental Media Center and NYU MAGNET. His experimental media and film work has shown internationally including at the Human Rights Watch International Film Festival and Tribecca Film Festival. His performance work has shown at NY Live Arts (NYC), Dixon Place (NYC), and Red Eye Theater (Minneapolis). Billy was a founding technologist-in-residence at Art-A-Hack where he worked with artist Mark Bolotin.
Billy earned his MS in Integrated Digital Media from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and earned a BFA in Visual Communication from the University of Kansas School of Art and Design.
