Benefits

We value our staff and are committed to providing full-time employees a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, retirement, and other programs.

Time Off

Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • Employees with less than 5 years of employment accrue 25 days per year.
  • Employees who have worked more than 5 years accrue 30 days of PTO per year.
  • Employees who work more than 10 years accrue 36 days of PTO per year.

In addition to this Paid Time Off, Arts Midwest closes two weeks annually for paid winter and summer breaks.

Volunteer Time Off (VTO)

  • Employees have two workdays per year to spend in community service, volunteering for an organization of their choice.

Paid Family, Parental, Bereavement, and Emergency Medical Leave

  • Arts Midwest offers up to 4 weeks of paid leave for caring for a family member who is ill, welcoming a new child to the family, grieving a loss, or for a medical emergency not covered by short-term disability.

Health & Dental Insurance

Health insurance: two plan options offered through Health Partners

  1. High deductible health care plan, or
  2. Three for Free plan (lower deductible and premium)
  • Arts Midwest pays 90% of employee’s premium, employee pays 10%
  • Arts Midwest pays 50% of dependent premiums, employee pays 50%

Health savings account (HSA) (For use with High Deductible Health Care Plan)

  • Pre-tax dollars optionally contributed by employee
  • Arts Midwest contributes $1000 annually (half of individual deductible for high deductible plan.)

Flexible savings account (FSA)

  • Employees can contribute pre-tax dollars to a savings account for limited medical expenses or dependent care

Dental insurance through Principal

  • 100% of employee premium paid by Arts Midwest
  • Employee pays 100% of premiums for dependents on the plan

 
 

Retirement

Retirement 403(b) account through Nationwide

  • Arts Midwest contributes 6.25% of salary after one year of employment
  • No matching system and no vesting schedule
  • Employee can contribute any amount, nonmatching, at any time up to IRS limits
  • ROTH and Traditional 403(b) accounts are available

 
 

Life Insurance and Disability

Long-term care insurance through Unum

  • Arts Midwest pays 100% of premium
  • This benefit provides three (3) years of assistance up to $2,000 a month for a long term care facility or for a caregiver at home.
  • Employee can purchase additional coverage for self or family members
  • This benefit is no longer widely available on the market.

Life insurance; accidental death and dismemberment through Principal

  • Arts Midwest pays 100% of employee premiums for group term life and dependent life
  • Employees can purchase additional coverage

Short Term Disability

  • Arts Midwest pays 100% of premium
  • Plan pays 60% of pre-disability earnings for up to twelve weeks

Long Term Disability

  • Arts Midwest pays 100% of the premium.
  • Plan pays 60% of pre-disability earnings for up to 36 months (depending on employee’s age)

 
 

Other Benefits

Art Fund

  • Employees are reimbursed for up to $150/year for arts events for themselves and guests.

Professional Development

  • Arts Midwest will consider professional development events as paid time worked, and will cover the cost of registration and travel expenses related to professional development
