Showcases

Live performances are an integral component of the Midwest Arts Conference. Between panel-selected and independently arranged showcases, attendees will be able to choose from more than 50 performance options.

Plan ahead! A listing of all showcases, including showcase descriptions, will be available online in August and published in our Program Book, distributed on site to all attendees.

Spotlight Showcases

Panel-selected Spotlight Showcases offer mainstage expsoure to artists and ensembles and are a featured part of the Conference schedule. Just a short walk across the street from the Conference venues is the historic Folly Theater, where the panel-selected artists/ensembles will perform. Selected from more than 180 applications by a panel of performing arts professionals, Spotlight Showcases represent a wide variety of disciplines, genres, programming options, and fee ranges.

Please check back in the summer for a list of Spotlight Showcase artists.

Note: The 2008 Spotlight Showcase artists have already been selected. We will post information on applying to showcase at the 2009 Midwest Arts Conference in December.

Independent Showcases

Independent showcases complement and expand the roster of panel-selected artists, and offer greater flexibility in venue, cost, and scheduling options. By coordinating an independent showcase as an individual event or a group performance, artists and artist managers/agents can capitalize on the avid audience of presenters searching for artists for upcoming seasons.
