Application Questions

You’ll need to provide the following information on your application:

Artist Info/Notification

  • Contact and other information about yourself or your artist/ensemble
  • Contact information for the person we should notify about application decisions

Narrative Questions

  • What do you do? Tell us about your artistic discipline/production. (max 500 characters)
  • Brief description of your proposed 15-minute showcase, including specific titles of work(s) to be presented, number of individual artists that will appear in the showcase (solo, small combo, full ensemble), etc. (max 800 characters)
  • Briefly state any scheduling conflicts for Thurs., September 13 and/or Fri., September 14, 2012. (max 400 characters)
  • Briefly describe your community/educational outreach work, if applicable. (max 500 characters)
  • Three-year touring history: Include a general description of the types of performances/residencies, range of venues played, and size ranges of the communities in which you performed (note: this should NOT be a list of all activities). If you are new to touring, briefly outline your strategy for beginning to tour and for marketing. (max 800 characters)
  • Online promotional materials: Provide a URL for review of your highest-quality online materials of the type that you would provide to a prospective presenter.
    • These materials will be reviewed in addition to your hard-copy materials, following the same general criteria.

Technical Requirements

  • Provide specific technical requirements for your proposed 15-minute showcase (NOT full-length performance tech).
  • Applicants must be specific about the technical requirements for their proposed showcase.
    • For budgetary reasons, Arts Midwest reserves the right to limit the amount of technical support we will provide to recommended artists/ensembles, though we will work with the artists/ensembles to meet their needs to the fullest extent possible.
