At the Minneapolis Convention Center on September 8, 2011, Seth Godin, the world’s foremost marketing provocateur, spoke at Arts Midwest’s Midwest Arts Conference, in partnership with Arts Learning Xchange.
Godin discussed the key to successful arts marketing—including how to get attention, tell the right story, and deliver remarkable products and services—in his keynote address, Invisible or Remarkable? Based on his best-selling books Poke the Box, Linchpin: Are You Indispensable, Unleashing the Ideavirus, and Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us, among others, this session offered attendees key insights into avoiding the mismatch of new marketing with old, and outlined how leadership has become the most effective form of marketing for the new generation and new economy.
Considered a creative and revolutionary marketing expert, Godin has written thirteen best-selling books about the post-industrial revolution, the way ideas spread, marketing, quitting, leadership, and changing everything. Godin draws on his successful educational career at Tufts University, his MBA from Stanford University, and his years of experience in the software field—including as founder of the breakthrough Internet company, Yoyodyne, and as Vice President of Marketing for Yahoo!—to offer attendees real-world examples on how to think creatively to transform business ideas and practices.
