Congratulations to Jennie Germain—this year’s recipient of the David J. Fraher Future Leaders Fund Award.
In January 2009, David Fraher marked 25 years as Executive Director of Arts Midwest. Arts Midwest’s Board of Directors and staff, along with many friends and colleagues, established the David J. Fraher Future Leaders’ Fund to honor David’s contributions and commitment to the field and his vision for the future. The Future Leaders’ Fund provides the next generation of arts administration leaders with the opportunity to participate in educational programming, networking opportunities, and real-life learning experiences within the industry, as well as helping these “next gen” leaders to build a strong network of mentors early in their careers.
Now in its third year, the Fund has supported three accomplished young leaders, allowing them to attend the Midwest Arts Conference and benefit from the essential professional development experiences it affords. These scholarship recipients—Megan Vetsch, Anne O’Brien, and Maarten Bout—have, in turn, used their new skills and knowledge to make an impact on the performing arts field.
This year, we are pleased to announce that the Fund will be used to provide a full scholarship for Jennie Germain to attend the 24th annual Midwest Arts Conference, held in Minneapolis, MN from September 7-10, 2011. Jennie is the Executive Director of the Austin Area Commission for the Arts, and has already begun to make an impact on the field.
We are looking forward to introducing Jennie to the Conference. If you see her at the Conference, please greet her and welcome her to the field.
If you are interested in contributing to the fund, you may donate online. Please indicate on your donation that you would like to designate the gift to the David J. Fraher Future Leaders Fund.
