Jan Webb is a North Dakota native, having lived in North Dakota all her life, with the exception of six years spent in Houston, Texas. She has been director for the North Dakota Council on the Arts since July 2000. Prior to this position, she was the director of a private, nonprofit art gallery for five years and owner/operator of a retail art gallery and framing business for twelve years. She received her B.S. in English and French from the University of North Dakota and is currently working on an M.P.A. degree from the same university. She has previously served as a board member of the Bismarck chapter of the Diabetes Association, Dakota West Arts Council, ND Ladies DU, Bismarck-Mandan Symphony League, and Bismarck Art & Galleries Association. Jan has three adult children and one grandchild.
