Dennis Holub is the executive director of the South Dakota Arts Council. In an association with the Council that began in 1971, he has worked to enrich South Dakota’s cultural life in numerous ways: he organized the state’s first Artists-In-Schools Program, developed the Arts Bank Program, and fostered the creation of a state-wide assembly of local art agencies. Dennis’ experience in theater includes work as theater director at the Black Hills Playhouse. He holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in speech and theater from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, and a master of arts degree in that discipline from Indiana University. From 1992-93 and again in 1996-97, he served as chair of the National Endowment for the Arts, Arts in Education Partnership panel. Dennis is a resident of Pierre, South Dakota.
